Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: Responsibilities Responsible for activities of patient care which involve basic knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization procedures, principles of surgical procedures, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, use and care of surgical instruments and equipment, and use of anesthetic agents Ensure that all HMC policies and procedures and HCAHO regulations are adhered to during procedures. EXPECTED PAY: Surgical Technologist I: $27.26-38.48/hour Surgical Technologist II : $27.26-38.48/hour (with a 3% range adjustment) This is an hourly position . Surgical Technologist II: Education: High School Diploma or GED; requires completion of a Surgical Tech program and Surgical Technologist Certification with a minimum of 3 years working in a Surgical Tech role OR minimum 5 years working in a Surgical Tech role. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Surgical Technologist role if certified. Minimum of 5 years in Surgical Technologist role if not certified. Licensure/Certification: American Heart Association CPR (BLS), Surgical Technologist Certification or 5 years or more in a Surgical Technologist role. Surgical Tech Education and Skills
